“But if a wicked man turns away from all the sins he has committed and keeps all my decrees and does what is just and right, he will surely live; he will not die.” Ezekiel 18:21.
God is the God of another chance. When God forgives, He forgets and allows us to approach Him without condemnation. One of the Hebrew words that describes this grace and love of God is ‘Chesed’ meaning ‘loving-kindness’, a strong covenant word that emphasizes the extreme passion of God that refuses to give up on us when we are weak, faulty, or struggling with temptation.
His loving-kindness reached out to Adam and Eve after they sinned and He covered their shame. His loving-kindness reached out to David and restored him after adultery. His loving-kindness reached out to Peter after his public failure and restored him as an Apostle of the Church of Jesus Christ.
God’s loving-kindness is looking for sinners to forgive; weak people to strengthen; poor people to bless; and humble people to adopt into His family. No wonder King David wrote: “He gives his king great victories; he shows unfailing kindness to his anointed, to David and his descendants forever.” Psalm 18:50. Yes, God will show His unfailing loving kindness to you every day.
Surely, God’s mercy and loving kindness will be with me always.
