The great King above all gods

October 13

“Let us come before him with thanksgiving and extol him with music and song.  For the Lord is the great God, the great King above all gods.”  (Ps. 95:2,3).

We are encouraged to thank God for who He is regardless of how we feel.  During a crisis, He is still the great God and the great King above all gods.  When disappointments come, He is still the great God and the great King above all gods.  When the going gets tough, He is still the great God and the great King above all gods.

There are times when the valley is so low that there seems to be nothing to be thankful for, yet our God remains to us the great God and the great King above all gods. Joni Erickson had a tragic accident that left her paralyzed in a wheel chair.  She prayed for healing for many years but God chose to give her grace to be a champion even in a wheel chair.  With the heart of a winner her spirit soared into greater heights and deeper depths of creativity, power, and purpose.

Joni became an author, a song writer, a singer, artist and conference speaker.  She found true love and married.  Her body was confined to a wheel chair but her spirit remained strong and with a heart of thanksgiving her life brought glory to the great God and the great King above all gods. Each day she found a reason to be thankful and each day God gave her a reason to shine.  Our Lord remains the great God and the great King above all gods.
